For Silicon Practice customers

Silicon Practice website gone, or about to go? We will have an urgent working website up within 24 hours.

On 28 October 2026 Pulse reported that GP practices in England and Wales have had their websites taken down after their supplier, Silicon Practice, entered administration. If yours is one of them, start your new site below or email us, and we will have an urgent working website up within 24 hours, then build your full site within 2 weeks.

We reply the same working day. Practice Digital is independent of Silicon Practice and its owner, and we know nothing about the administration beyond what has been published.

Do not wait for it to go dark

Pulse reports that Schappit, the owner of Silicon Practice, filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators this month, and that practices in Gloucestershire found their websites deleted, in one case before the practice had been told. Swansea Bay University Health Board has told patients that affected practice websites will stop working and that any notice is expected to be very short.

If your site is still online today, it is the best copy of your content you will get. Three things to do now:

  1. Save it. Print every page to PDF, and note every form patients use (repeat prescriptions, fit notes, registration, contact).
  2. Check your domain. Find out who controls your web address before the supplier stops answering (see step 2 below).
  3. Get in touch now. We build your replacement while the old site is still running, so when it goes dark we switch your address over and patients see no gap.

Today

If your site has already gone: four things to do now

1. Tell patients which routes still work

The NHS App, your online consultation tool and your phone lines are separate from your website, so they keep working. Put a short notice on your Google Business Profile, your NHS website profile, your phone message and any social media pages, telling patients how to request appointments, prescriptions and fit notes while the website is down.

2. Find out who controls your domain name

nhs.uk addresses are allocated to the practice through NHS England, so a supplier cannot keep them. If your address ends in .co.uk or .com, run a WHOIS lookup to see who registered it. If it is not the practice, ask in writing for the registrar login or transfer code. If you cannot get it back quickly, a new site can go live at a temporary address and move to your own address later.

3. Gather what is left of the old site

A saved PDF, screenshots, your practice leaflet, a list of the forms patients used, or an old copy on the Internet Archive are all enough for us to rebuild from. You do not need to rewrite anything.

4. Speak to your ICB or health board

Pulse reports that NHS England and ICBs are helping affected practices find alternative providers. Let them know what you are doing so the practice is not duplicating effort.
